I think it is worth remembering that WHO has changed its definition of pandemic only last year. Which means this pandemic would not have qualified as one for the last 100 years.... I suggest to stay calm. Most say it is so far actually less danger...

Job offer - senior Web developer

Hello, I am looking quite urgently for a web developer, backend, here in Linz. Working on a web 2.0 social network. Needs Java, Hibernate, MySQL, Spring, Linux, Apache. Full time. I am one of the few companies here in Linz open to "English-totallers", ie. no German required.

HOLIDAY APARTMENT LINZ

LOOKING FOR A SHORT TERM HOLIDAY APARTMENT?

If your friends and family are anything like mine - then you are always having guests and visitors. Given that there is a lack of Apartment Hotels in Linz, I think there is only 1 .... I thought I would put this on the web site as we don't advertise it to the general public.

We own a small apartment (43m) - in Auwiesenstraße that is available for short term holiday rental. We use it for business travelers - rather than them staying in a hotel… Continue

CHRISTMAS IN JULY. Family Day.

Greetings fellow Expats

After a discussion at the last Champagne Fridays 'think tank' , I thought I might throw the idea around of having a Christmas in July Family Day next year. Angela and I are happy to make the arrangements, but we though it might be nice to have a family fun day in Summer - so that kids can play outside and the adults can enjoy ourselves without the need for 10 layers of clothing! Anyone searching for a babysitter?

Hi Guys
Thought that I would share a contact with you. I know it can be difficult to find a good bi-lingual babysitter around here and with the festive party season around the corner then thought that some of you may find this handy. She will be helping me looking after Jake during his stay in Austria in December and January.
Natalia works at our company in Enns one day a week and is a typical poor uni student. She has had a lot of experience with taking care of kids. She speaks Russian, German… Continue

What I miss about Australia! My TOP 10

Thought that it might be fun to remember the things that for such a long time I took for granted living in Australia. Don't get me wrong - I love Austria and all the wonderful people I have met here in my new home. But I think it is nice sometimes to remember what is a mere (yes I say mere!!) 26ish hours away. So here is my top 10,in no particular order. Feel free to add, comment or subtract from the list.

1. Spotlight Stores! - OMG I can't believe how often I used to run into SpotligContinue
